4 Crore Parking Charges In 9 Years, What Will Happen If The Bangladeshi Plane Does Not Return From Raipur?

Raipur Airport Bangladeshi Aircraft

It is no longer possible to return the Bangladeshi aircraft parked at the Raipur airport in Chhattisgarh for the past nine years. United Airways, the Bangladeshi airline that owned the aircraft, has already been decommissioned. With parts of the long-standing aircraft jammed, there is little hope that the plane will ever fly again. In such a situation, the big question is what will happen to this plane? In these nine years, the rent for parking an aircraft in a hangar has increased to over Rs 4 crore. In such a situation, who will pay this rent is the question.

Presently Raipur Airport Authority has sent the file related to these questions to Delhi. According to officials of Raipur Airport Authority, this plane belongs to United Airways Company. This company was created by Bangladesh captain Tasbirul Ahmed Chaudhary. In the year 2015, this plane flew from Dhaka to Muscat carrying 173 passengers. Meanwhile, while flying at a height of about 32000 feet above Bemetara in Chhattisgarh, the engine malfunctioned and the aircraft fell down.

The plane has been standing at the airport for nine years

Since then the aircraft is standing at Raipur Airport for repairs. According to officials, initially Bangladeshi authorities also took note of the news of the plane, but then they stopped responding to emails sent in this regard, let alone the news of the plane’s discovery. According to airport authority officials, 90 emails have been sent to the Bangladesh government and Bangladeshi companies so far. He has been told that the parking fee at the airport has gone up to over Rs 4 crore.

The aircraft became a trap for the airport authority

However, neither the company nor the government has taken any initiative. In such circumstances, this aircraft has become a thorn in the neck of the Raipur Airport Authority. According to authority officials, the aircraft has been standing for 9 years despite the cost of at least $48 million. In such a situation, everything from its engine to its wheels is damaged. In such a situation, the plane is unlikely to fly again.

File sent to Delhi

In such a situation, the airport authority is considering auctioning it to collect parking rent, but due to its marginal utility, there is little chance of a company coming forward to buy it. In such a situation, the Raipur Airport Authority has sent a report to Delhi for disposal of this matter. Now the Central Aviation Department will take the further decision in this regard.
