4 Dead Bodies Trapped In Ramganga Barrage In Bareilly, Fear Of Being Swept Away By Flood, Police Investigating

There was an uproar after four dead bodies were found in the Ramganga Barrage in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. As soon as the four bodies were seen floating in the Ganga, the people around immediately informed the police. The police reached the spot and first called for divers and tried to retrieve the bodies, but due to high currents, the four trapped bodies could not be retrieved. After which Bhamora Police with the help of NDRF took out the dead bodies after 18 hours of hard work. According to the police, the dead bodies are eight days old. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem. However, the dead bodies have not been identified yet.

On receiving information, Bhamora, Subhashnagar and Kent police reached the spot and divers were immediately called in, later it was found that bodies were stuck in the barrage section. There is a lot of water flow. Divers are finding it difficult to retrieve the bodies. Divers were unable to reach the bodies. Bhamora police station in-charge Pradeep Kumar Chaturvedi recovered the bodies with the help of NDRF.

Police suspect that the recent heavy rains have raised the water level of the Ramganga and released water from the hills. Because of this, dead bodies have been washed up from far and wide. The bodies appear to be 8 days old. Attempts were made to identify the bodies from the bystanders but they refused to identify them.

Bhamora Inspector Pradeep Kumar Chaturvedi said four bodies were pulled out of Ramganga Dam at 2 pm on Tuesday. He said that from the looks of things, it appears that three bodies are of women, while one body is of a child. All four bodies have been sent for post-mortem. Efforts are being made for identification. After the postmortem report, legal action will be taken.
