A Live-in Woman Gives Birth To A Baby Girl, A Sister-in-law Trades An Innocent Child; Sold With A Friend

The two-day-old baby of a woman living in a live-in relationship in Dehradun, Uttarakhand was sold by her sister-in-law. The woman was in a live-in relationship from 2017 to 10 June 2024, but the two are now married. The woman gave birth to a baby girl at Jolie Grant Hospital on November 25 last year, who was sold by her sister-in-law to a Delhi couple. The victim’s family informed the police about the incident, but the police did not take any action, after which the girl’s parents approached the court.

The woman, who was in a live-in relationship, gave birth to a baby girl last year, who was sold by her sister-in-law to a Delhi-based family. The victim works in a hospital located in Nehru Colony in Patel Nagar Police Station area. The woman was in a live-in relationship from 2017 to 10 June 2024. During this time, she gave birth to a baby girl at a hospital near Jolie Grant on November 25 last year. Two days after the delivery, the victim’s sister-in-law Monika Rawat discharged her from the hospital and took her to a hotel.

Monika Rawat’s friend Payal Bansal was already present at the hotel. Both of them also called Jitendra Kumar and his wife Rinki, who live in Keshavpuram, Delhi, to the spot with the intention of selling the girl child. The victim has accused the sister-in-law and her friend of selling her daughter. The sister-in-law also tried to intimidate her sister-in-law, after which the victim married her live-in partner. The victim woman complained about this to the Doiwala police station and then to the SSP office on June 7.

The court ordered to file the case

The aggrieved woman appealed to many places to get her daughter back. After getting no response from the police, the woman approached the court. During the hearing of this case, the court ordered the Patel Nagar police station to register the case. Inspector KK Lunthi of Patel Nagar police station said that as per the court order, a case has been registered against the victim’s sister-in-law, her friend and the buyers of the child.
