Here a woman has cremated a 150-year-old Samal tree with all the rituals in the crematorium. This giant semal tree, standing on the Belda Ganga Canal track for the past 150 years, fell due to strong winds on Friday.

When Shalu Saini, a social activist from Muzaffarnagar, came to know about this, he picked up some branches of the tree and took them to the cremation ground and performed the last rites by lighting these branches as per Hindu customs. He said that after hearing the news of the tree falling, he felt that an old person in his family had breathed his last. The patriarch’s time is running out. So, he immediately decided that this heirloom would be dedicated with full respect, according to Shalu Saini, this is no ordinary tree, but contains countless memories of four generations.
