At a young age, many people dream high in life and then work day and night to fulfill them. At the same time, some children waver as soon as they step on the threshold of youth and consider the dark and petty world of crime as real life. One such serial killer was Ravindra Kumar, who was only 19 when he entered the world of crime. In no time he created such a stir in the world of crime that everyone started hating him after seeing his crime.
Considering the gravity of his crimes, the court demanded that he be hanged but the court sentenced him to life imprisonment. Ravindra Kumar was a serial killer and serial rapist who did not kill any man or woman, but his targets were innocent children, including minor girls. According to police records, Ravindra Kumar killed more than 30 children in a span of 7 years.
In this way he preyed on innocent children
During police interrogation, Ravindra Kumar said about killing the children that he used to go out after 8 pm to find his victims. His first target was little girls. When the girls were not available, he would talk to the younger boys and entice them to buy toffee by giving them a 10 rupee note. Any child caught in its trap will be taken to a deserted place.
After that Ravindra used to commit rape and rape by threatening those children. After feeling satisfied, he would kill the child on the spot, fearing that the secret would be revealed. Killer Ravindra’s targets were children aged 6 to 12 years. Its incidents and missing children created panic in districts of Delhi-NCR and western UP.
Rabindra Kumar’s story of becoming a criminal
According to the police, Ravindra Kumar confessed his crime before the police and said that he came to Delhi with his family from Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh in 2008 at the age of 18. Her father worked as a plumber in Delhi, while her mother worked as a housekeeper in nearby houses. After coming to Delhi, Ravindra Kumar befriended some drug addict boys, in whose company he also became addicted to alcohol and drugs.
To satisfy his drug addiction, he started committing petty thefts. Gradually Ravindra Kumar started taking drugs along with alcohol. During this time he developed a habit of watching porn videos due to which he became a victim of severe mental illness and started preying on young children. Every night, Ravindra would go out in search of young children, drunk. He walked several kilometers on roads at night until his search was over.
Serial killer Ravindra Kumar made his first victim at the age of 19. In his first crime, he raped and killed a minor girl. After committing this crime, he stayed away from the police which boosted his courage. Gradually he began to wander all night every day in search of his prey.
In this way Ravindra Kumar was caught by the police for the first time
In 2014, the police arrested him for the murder and failed attempt to rape a 6-year-old girl. But the police could not produce any evidence against him and the police let Ravindra Kumar go. Once again in 2015, the police arrested him from a bus stand in Rohini, Delhi in connection with the kidnapping of a 6-year-old girl.
This time the police had CCTV footage as solid evidence against him in which he was seen with a 6-year-old minor girl. Based on the CCTV footage, the police alerted their informers. Finally the efforts of the police were successful and Ravindrakumar was caught by the police. In his statement to the police, Ravindra Kumar said that he abducted the girl by luring her with toffee, then took her to a deserted place, raped her and killed her by slitting her throat fearing the secret would be revealed.
The police had solid evidence in this case, which was enough to convict Ravindra in court. During police interrogation, Ravindra Kumar revealed a black log of all his past crimes. Even the police were shocked after he confessed to all his crimes.
The court sentenced him to life imprisonment
Delhi’s Rohini court on 25 May 2023 sentenced Ravindra Kumar, the killer of innocent children, to life imprisonment in the case of murder and rape of a minor girl. Killer Ravindra Kumar was 32 years old at the time of sentencing. Ravindra Kumar killed around 30 girls between 2008 and 2015 by making them victims of his lust.
While sentencing Ravindra Kumar, Sessions Judge Sunil Kumar in his judgment called it a rare crime and ruled that the crime committed by the criminal was inhumane and the court had no mercy or sympathy towards him. The judge wrote that this crime has shaken the conscience of the society. The killer has been convicted in only three cases.
