Abdullah Azam, son of SP leader Azam Khan, has been granted bail by the MP-legislators court. The court granted him bail based on the arguments and evidence of the defense lawyers during the hearing. However, legal complications remain in Abdullah Azam’s release from prison. Abdullah’s lawyer says that he will be able to come out only after getting bail from the High Court in this case. Abdullah Azam is lodged in Hardoi jail in Uttar Pradesh. He is prisoner number 653 in barrack number 21.
Azam Khan’s father-in-law’s house and Abdullah Azam’s maternal house are in Hardoi. Azam Khan is serving time in the neighboring Sitapur Jail for several cases including goat theft. Sometimes his maternal uncles come and meet Abdullah Azam, including his maternal uncle and aunt. Abdullah Azam’s lawyer, Zubair Ahmed Khan, said he was serving a sentence in the case of two birth certificates, recovery of a municipal sweep machine at Johor University and illegal plotting on riverine land.
Among these cases, he got bail from the MP-legislature magistrate court on August 16 in a case of illegal plotting on riverine land. But there are still some legal issues. That is why it is difficult for them to come out of jail. He is awaiting bail in the High Court for this. Only after this he can come out.
SP and Congress leaders have tried to meet Abdullah Azam in Hardoi Jail. But the jail administration did not allow him to meet. Jail administration says that meeting arrangements are made only after the inmate gives his permission. The people of his motherland have met him.
