Union Minister Nitin Gadkari promised to make air fuel donor to farmers. On Saturday, Nitin Gadkari said at an event in Pune that he has resolved to stop petrol and diesel and make farmers fuel and energy providers. They will be made aviation fuel donors and airplanes will fly with bio aviation fuel made by farmers.
Nitin Gadkari said that his mission is to stop the use of petrol and diesel. He has made such a pledge that he plans to start preparations for the new airport being built in Nagpur. He said that now we have prepared bio aviation fuel including ethanol.
He said that earlier when he said that planes could run on bio-aviation fuel, even his colleagues did not believe him, but now his dream has come true.
The planes will fly on bio aviation fuel
“Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has a plant with a capacity of 88,000 tonnes per annum to produce sustainable bio aviation turbine fuel (ATF),” Gadkari said.
He said they have tripled ethanol production at their facilities to 6 lakh litres. Now they look forward to the day when the plane lands at the Nagpur International Airport and fills the Bio-ATF with materials supplied by farmers in Vidarbha.
Bio aviation fuel will be cheaper than petrol
He said bio aviation fuel would be cheaper than petroleum ATF. I have taken up the challenge of providing cheap bio ATF and am working on it. I discussed with the IOC President until it was ready.
He said that before the inauguration of Nagpur airport, it has been decided that planes from Nagpur will fly on bio aviation fuel prepared by farmers. If you want to manufacture aviation fuel from ethanol, start from Pune.
