Reliance Jio said on Saturday that it has become the world’s largest company in terms of data traffic, i.e. consumption, leaving Chinese companies behind. The company said in the statement that per capita data consumption increased to 30.3 GB per month, or more than one GB per day. With this, it has become the largest company in the world in terms of data traffic. According to Reliance Jio’s June quarter data, data consumption increased by 32.8 percent to 44 billion gigabytes (GB), which was 33.2 billion GB in the same quarter last year.

13 million 5G users

The statement said that the company’s total customer count has reached around 49 crore, which includes 13 crore 5G users. With this, if we leave aside China, Jio has emerged as the largest player in terms of 5G services. Reliance Jio Infocomm Chairman Akash M Ambani said that affordable, high-coverage and quality internet is the backbone of Digital India and Jio is proud to contribute to it.

He said that our new prepaid plans will promote innovation and sustainable development in the field of 5G and AI. With a customer-centric approach, Jio will further strengthen its market leadership position with its superior network and innovative service offerings. Voice calls on the company’s network reached a record level of 1.42 billion minutes in the June quarter of the current financial year, up six per cent from the same period last year.
