Akhilesh’s Distance From BJP Leaders, The Rebels Need To Be Accounted For

After the Lok Sabha elections, the political situation in Uttar Pradesh has changed. The BJP, which was number one in the state for 10 years, has suffered a political setback to become the number two party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, while the SP is the single largest party with 37 seats. In such a situation, Akhilesh Yadav has instructed his leaders to keep distance from BJP leaders, while during the Rajya Sabha elections, the rebels have closed the doors for the return of SP MLAs. Not only this, a message has also been given to RLD chief Jayant Chaudhary, who changed the alliance between the Lok Sabha elections.

Akhilesh Yadav’s morale is high after the 2024 election results and the strategy is to keep the political atmosphere in SP’s favor till the 2027 elections. In this regard, a no-entry board has been installed for BJP leaders in the SP. On Wednesday, a senior SP leader from western UP accompanied a BJP leader to meet Akhilesh, but the SP chief refused to meet. Not only that, he advised his leader not to do it again. In this way, Akhilesh Yadav has tried to give a strong message to his leaders along with a political message.

Akhilesh’s distance from BJP leaders

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s entire focus is currently on the 2027 assembly elections, for which he is making political preparations. In such a situation, BJP does not want to spoil the atmosphere created by its leaders. He has sent a message to the entire party by advising one of their leaders from western UP to stay away from the BJP. Earlier, Faizabad SP MP Awadhesh Prasad had approached Akhilesh Yadav to induct former MLA Jitendra Singh Bablu into the SP and tried his best, but was unsuccessful.

A BJP woman MLA is also seeking a place for herself in the SP, but wants a ticket guarantee in the 2027 elections. The SP chief is yet to give him the green light and the way he has now warned him to stay away from BJP leaders, it is clear that the political environment is not going to spoil the political climate in the SP’s favor with defecting leaders from BJP or other parties. Don’t want to upset the SP leaders and workers by taking the leaders of other parties into the party. That is why the SP president is giving a message to keep distance from BJP leaders.

Doors closed for rebels to return home

All the doors of return of the MLAs who rebelled against the SP and stood with the BJP camp during the Rajya Sabha elections have been closed. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has made it clear that he will show a way out even to a leader who is advocating the return of rebel SP MLAs to the party. After Akhilesh’s actions, it is clear that he is in no mood to let go of the rebels. During the Rajya Sabha elections in February this year, 8 SP MLAs stood with the BJP and during the Lok Sabha elections too, they openly campaigned for the BJP, but their stance has weakened after the results.

MLA from Unchahar seat Manoj Pandey also resigned from the post of chief whip of SP in the assembly and also joined BJP during the election campaign. Apart from this, SP rebel MLAs Abhay Singh, Rakesh Pratap Singh, Rakesh Kumar Pandey, Pooja Pal, Vinod Chaturvedi, Ashutosh Maurya and Maharaj Prajapati were involved. Akhilesh took a tough stance towards all these rebels during the elections, but after the elections many rebel leaders are trying to return to the SP. Akhilesh Yadav is not ready to accept him under any circumstances. In this way they are compromising with the rebels.

Not ready to take Jayant along

RLD and SP contested elections together in 2022. Akhilesh Yadav also sent Jayant Chaudhary to the Rajya Sabha to keep the RLD with him in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. SP was ready to give 7 seats to RLD in 2024, but Jayant entered the election fray in alliance with BJP. SP’s performance in western UP has been very good and RLD has also managed to win both its quota seats. In such a situation, when asked about taking Jayant Chaudhary back with him, Akhilesh Yadav said that we have nothing to give him. Neither ministership nor budget. In such a situation we have nothing to give so why would they come? Its indications are clear that without Jayant Chaudhary, SP has managed to get good results in Western UP, then why would it ally with RLD. In this way, Akhilesh Yadav has now created a formula to contest the 2027 assembly elections together with the Congress.
