Alert In Gujarat, Warning In Delhi Too… Disaster Rain In Himachal, How Will The Weather Be In UP-Bihar?


Monsoons are very kind across the country at this time. All the hilly states from Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh to Uttarakhand are receiving heavy rains. From Gujarat to Rajasthan, due to rain, flood-like conditions have occurred. Large areas have been inundated in both these states. Seven people have lost their lives due to this flood and rain in Gujarat. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rains in Gujarat for the next two days.

Similarly, heavy rain alert has been issued in many other states including Delhi NCR today. According to Indian Meteorological Department, Delhi and NCR may experience rain today. Today is expected to remain cloudy throughout the day. Moderate rain is also possible. Delhi has seen 23 days of rain in the month of August this year, the highest in the last 14 years. Earlier in the year 2012, Delhi had the highest rainfall of 22 days. According to the Meteorological Department, an orange alert for rain has been issued in West Rajasthan and Andaman Nicobar Islands on Wednesday.

Two-day yellow alert in Himachal Pradesh

Similarly, in addition to some areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala may also experience heavy rain today. While on Thursday, orange alert has been announced for heavy rain in 10 states including West Rajasthan, Kerala and Odisha. According to the Meteorological Department, 126 roads have been closed in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rains. Looking at the situation, the Meteorological Department has declared a yellow alert for two days here as well.

With 41 roads already closed due to rains in the state, 85 other roads were also blocked due to rains on Tuesday. In the capital Shimla itself, traffic was disrupted due to trees falling on several roads. The state has received 591.8 mm rainfall so far. So far 144 people have died since the arrival of monsoon in the state. While so far more than 1217 crores have been lost. On the other hand, rain is continuing in Rajasthan too.

Flood and rain alert in Rajasthan too

According to the Indian Meteorological Department, heavy rains may continue in the state for the next two-three days. In the last 24 hours, western Rajasthan received good rainfall at many places. Meanwhile, there has been heavy rain in the districts of Jaipur, Udaipur, Banswara and Dungarpur etc. Bharatpur, Jaipur, Ajmer, Kota and Bikaner are likely to receive good rain today. There is also a danger of flooding in the areas bordering Gujarat.

Moderate rains in UP Bihar

Uttar Pradesh and Bihar also have indications of good rains for the next two days. According to the Indian Meteorological Department, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have been receiving light to moderate rains for the past two days. Heavy rain has also fallen in many places. Similar rainy season will continue in these two states for the next two-three days. Temperatures are also likely to remain around normal during this period. However, due to rains in the hill states, there is a threat of floods in both these states.
