Many states of the country have been receiving heavy rains for the past few days, due to which many cities are facing water inundation and many rivers are flowing above the danger mark. The Meteorological Department has issued a weather forecast for the next 7 days in which heavy to very heavy rains are likely in many states. Delhi NCR is likely to experience rain between August 23 and 25.

Apart from Delhi NCR, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for North India and most of the North East states. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert due to heavy rains across Gujarat on Friday. Orange alert has been issued as heavy rain is likely in many parts of Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha and Maharashtra.

According to the Met department, heavy rains are likely in many states on Saturday as well, though heavy to very heavy rains are likely in East Gujarat. Apart from this, heavy rain is likely in many states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, West Bengal, Maharashtra and North East. Apart from this, rain alert will continue at many places in UP, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan and Telangana.

The rainy season will last for 3-4 days

According to the Met department, this period of rain will continue till 26th, after which many states will get relief from heavy rain. Most parts of the country are likely to experience sunshine. Skies are likely to remain clear in most of the states of the country except for Gujarat, Maharashtra, Rajasthan and North Eastern states.

Delhi weather will be like this

Many places witnessed light to moderate rains in Delhi NCR on Friday, while many places also witnessed heavy rains. On Saturday, the rains may appear weaker. Skies will remain cloudy in Delhi for the next few days and light to moderate rain may occur. However, by August 28-29, the weather may change again and Delhi may witness heavy rains.
