‘Aman’ Could Not Marry ‘Neelam’, Both Came To Court For Marriage, Family Members Picked Up The Girl


A commotion broke out in the Jabalpur district collector’s office premises after a sudden quarrel between the family members of the boyfriend and girlfriend who had come for the court marriage. The girlfriend’s family attacked her with sticks and knives and drove her from the court in a movie-style car. This incident outside the court was no less than a movie scene.

In the court room, there was a fight with sticks inside the court while the names of both were being called. Both went in and appeared in court. After the court proceedings, as soon as both of them came out, the lover’s family reached there and tried to forcibly pick up the lover and take her with them. The family members of the young man also rushed to save the girl. Meanwhile, both sides came face to face and fights started.

There was chaos in the collector premises

An atmosphere of chaos was created in the collector premises due to the fight. Five people including two women from the boy’s party were injured in this incident. At the time of the incident, no policeman was present in the collector’s office, which made the situation more serious. On getting information about the commotion, two policemen reached the spot and tried to convince both the parties, but by then the girlfriend’s family members had taken her into the car and left.

The girlfriend ran away to the lover’s house

23-year-old Aman Patel said that he is a resident of Chhindabni village in Panagar area. Aman Patel said that he is in love with 19-year-old Neelam Patel, a resident of Umaria in Gosalpur police station area. Neelam also loves Aman equally. Neelam wants to go against her family and establish her own new world, but this is not acceptable to her family. On 25th July, Neelam ran away from her home in Umaria and came to Aman, saying that she no longer wanted to be away from him.

Appealed to the police for security

On July 26, the couple got married in a temple as per Hindu customs and applied for a court marriage at the district collector’s office. Apart from this, an application was also made to the Superintendent of Police, stating that the girl’s family members were in danger and sought protection. Both were to appear before the magistrate on August 29 to record their statements for the court marriage.

The victim’s family filed a complaint at the police station

After giving a statement in the court and after signing, both were coming out with the marriage certificate when the girl’s family members attacked them and took the girl away. The lover’s family filed a complaint at Omati Police Station regarding this incident. The victim boy filed a complaint at the police station and demanded justice.

Meanwhile, Omati Police Station Sub Inspector SK Masram said that a complaint has been filed by the youth. Based on the complaint of the youth, a case has been registered against the girl’s family and an investigation into the entire matter has been started. Action will be taken according to whatever facts emerge in the investigation.
