Electricity Minister Atishi has taken a strict stand regarding the death of an IAS candidate due to electrocution in Delhi’s Patel Nagar. Atishi has written to the Chief Secretary to investigate the incident. Strict action has also been taken against the people responsible for this incident.
Delhi Government Minister Atishi has also given directions to the Chief Secretary regarding ex-gratia assistance. He said that the process of providing assistance to the relatives of the deceased should be started immediately and a proposal should be submitted by 5 pm tomorrow.
The power minister said that this is a shocking incident. A 26-year-old IAS candidate lost his life due to electric shock in Patel Nagar area. A young man lost his life due to negligence and indifference of government officials. In such a situation, there is a need to find out the cause of death and fix the responsibility on the culprits and take strict measures to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
The Chief Secretary is directed to:
1. Initiate an immediate inquiry into the matter and suggest action against those responsible for this tragic incident. The report in this regard has to be deposited in his office by 5 pm on Friday, July 26.
2. Policy measures should be suggested to prevent such incidents from happening in future.
3. No amount of money can compensate the loss of life, but to give them some relief in difficult times, as per rules, proposal for ex-gratia relief amount also has to be submitted by tomorrow, July 25, 5 pm.
