Saryu river has wreaked havoc in Barabanki of Uttar Pradesh. The water level of the river is continuously increasing. Along with this, erosion has also increased due to steepness on the banks. The situation has reached such a stage that the river is ready to breach its limits and enter the population at any time. Seeing the situation, the people living on the banks of the river have started migrating. At the same time, many people are busy trying to save the bricks by demolishing the houses built from life savings. According to the villagers, a similar situation occurs every year, but till date no concrete solution has been given by the government and administration.

According to local people, the flow of the river is also changing due to the continuous increase in the water level of the Sarayu river. Because of this, many villages on the banks have come under the threat of erosion. People are destroying their homes with their own hands due to the fear of ruining everything due to this deforestation. Many people living on the banks have already left their homes and taken refuge in safer places. Villagers say that fodder for cattle has become a major problem due to flooding in the river. The situation has reached such a level that even feeding the cattle has become difficult.

30 houses have been submerged in the river

On the other hand, seeing the situation, DM Barabanki has alerted the revenue department team. A flood PAC has also been deployed to deal with any kind of situation. According to the report of the revenue department, forest cutting is going on rapidly in Baburi of Hetmapur village of Ramnagar tehsil area. Floods and erosion are wreaking havoc. Due to erosion, 30 houses of Baburi village have been submerged in the river flow. While other 47 houses are still in danger. It also includes the permanent homes of Anil Kumar, Sumit Mishra, Sunita, Ramnaresh, Brijesh, Rajkumar, Vijay Kumar, Umashankar, Pawan Kumar, Ramu, Mukesh and Raju of the village.

He will be able to rebuild the house with these bricks. According to the villagers, total sixty families live in this village. However, most of these families have migrated. Some have left their homes and taken refuge in a joint school at a higher altitude. According to the Revenue Department, so far 30 people’s houses have been reported to have fallen into the river. All the flood victims are being given assistance of one lakh twenty thousand rupees by the government. Apart from this, they are also being given land in a nearby village.
