Bhasmrati’s Tune Played 1500 Damru Simultaneously, A World Record Held At Mahakal Temple


When the Mand-Mand-Mand was played simultaneously in Mahakala’s court… and a world record was created.

A new world record has been registered in the name of Mahakal city of Madhya Pradesh. This record is to play 1500 dumru continuously for 10 minutes during Baba Mahakal’s Aarti. This record has been recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. This information was given by the editor of Guinness Book of World Records himself, Rishi Nath. As per Chief Minister Mohan Yadav’s intention, practice was conducted for three days on Shaktipath from Triveni Museum to Chardham entrance.

Although all events organized in Baba Mahakal’s court are grand and divine, this time the event was different. Damru players from all over the state were present in this event not only from Ujjain. As soon as Bhasmrati started, these Damru players started playing Damru together and for 10 continuous minutes the Earth-Akaash reverberated with the tune of Manda-Manda-Manda. After 10 minutes the cremation ended and the drumming stopped as if the universe had stopped.

Damru players gathered from all over the state

Ujjain MP Anil Firoziah, Rajya Sabha member Umeshnath Maharaj were also present on the occasion. In this program Bhopal, Sagar, Khandwa, Khajuraho, Jabalpur and Ujjain Ma Ambe Sri Shivshakti Bhakti Mandal, Madhya Pradesh Jan Abhiyan Parishad, Sri Nagchandreswar Bhakti Mandal, Shayan Aarti Bhakti Mandal, Bhasma Ramaiah Bhakti Mandal, Bhasma Ramaiah Bhakti Mandal, B.P. Damru players from Badwale Mahadev Kirtan Mandali Bhopal, Sri Mahakaleshwar Vedic Training and Research Institute, Jai Mahakal Ramayana Pracharak Mandali Ujjain participated.

Such a world record was made for the first time

Officials of Guinness Book of World Records were also present in this event. Everyone saw the event with their own eyes and immediately realized the grandeur and divinity of the event and immediately announced that the world record would be set. According to Moolchand Junwal, assistant administrator of Sri Mahakaleshwar temple, so far Guinness Book of World Records have been created on different subjects, but for the first time, the record of playing Damru, which is very dear to Lord Shiva, has been created.

488 Damru’s record broken

The people of Ujjain were very excited to achieve this achievement. To participate in the program, everyone arrived at Baba’s Darbar in dress, disciplinedly praised Baba and played the Damru. Earlier, a similar record was held by the Federation of Indian Associations New York. However at that time there were only 488 Damru. Now this old record has been broken in Ujjain with the sound of 1500 Damru.
