A new look big 12 or as some might call it or actually, I call it college football’s version of a patchwork quilt Texas and Oklahoma leave for the SEC.

But the big 12 adds Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado this season.

And even in its first season in the conference, the youths are the favorite to win it.

Kyle Whittingham enters his 20th season as head coach in Salt Lake and quarterback Cam rising comes back for year five after a severe knee injury sidelined him last season.

The youths have a reputation for one of the most disruptive defensive fronts in college football.

They’ll have competition at the top though as another long tenured head coach, Mike Dundee tries to get Oklahoma State back to the conference title game and even though this team failed to make a bowl game last year, all eyes will still be on prime time in the Colorado Buffaloes, quarterback Shao Sanders and dual threat DB wide receiver Travis Hunter are on the short lists as some of the top talent in the country, but Dion will now have to prove it in a new conference.

One team not getting a lot of buzz, but frankly should be.

Is Kansas their dynamic quarterback Jalen Daniels was able to flaunt his athleticism before an injury ended his season early last year, but he’s back and he’s healthy and the Jayhawk defensive front is expected to be nasty, big changes in the big 12 with a lot of teams looking to make big statements.
