BJP’s Social Engineering And Congress’s Door-to-door Campaign In Haryana, Know Whose Plan It Is?

The Haryana assembly elections have not been formally announced, but the political chessboard has begun. The BJP has started trying to mend the political equation disturbed in the Lok Sabha polls and is planning to score a hat-trick of power with the help of strong social engineering. To return to power after ten years, the Congress has launched the ‘Haryana Mange Hisab’ campaign, through which it plans to create an anti-BJP atmosphere. At the same time, INLD and BSP have decided to jointly contest the Haryana assembly elections, while JJP is engaged in a struggle to save its political survival.

After the results of the Lok Sabha elections, the political activities for the Haryana assembly elections have intensified. Assembly elections are due in October and the check-mate game has begun for the state’s 90 assembly seats. To come to power for the third time in a row, BJP changed its CM face before the Lok Sabha elections. Even after this BJP had to lose five seats. The morale of the Congress is high and has started working on a strategy to maintain the atmosphere created by the Lok Sabha elections.

Congress’s ‘Haryana Mange Hisab’ campaign

The morale of the Congress is high after its victory in the Lok Sabha elections and now it is in a mood to maintain it till the assembly elections. Congress has launched ‘Haryana Mange Hisab Abhiyan’ from Karnal, through which party workers and leaders will go door to door to create atmosphere against 10 years of BJP government. Congress leader Dipendra Hooda said the BJP government has failed on many fronts including job creation, maintaining law and order and farmers’ security. The ‘Haryana Mange Hisab Abhiyan’ will expose the failures of the BJP government. Our leaders and workers will go door to door in all 90 assembly constituencies of the state.

Congress will go village to village and take the suggestions of the voters

Dipendra Hooda said that small padayatras, public meetings, street meetings, city parikramas will be carried out in every way to take the campaign forward. On behalf of the Congress, suggestion vehicles will go to every district and the suggestion boxes kept in them will take suggestions regarding the aspirations of every class and every individual. Congress in-charge Deepak Babria praised the leadership of Bhupendra Hooda and Udaybhan and said that the Congress has destroyed the casteist politics of the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections. In the 2024 elections, 36 communities of the state unitedly supported the Congress and in the assembly elections, the Congress will raise slogans of ‘Give BJP one more push’.

BJP’s focus is on cast combination

Before the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP replaced Manohar Lal Khattar with Naib Singh Saini, but even then it lost five parliamentary seats. In such a situation, BJP has handed over the reins of state president to Mohan Lal Badauli, who comes from the Brahmin community. While the BJP made Satish Punia, who hails from the Jat community, the in-charge of Haryana, Surendra Nagar, who hails from the Gurjar community, has been given the responsibility of co-in-charge. Apart from this, the BJP has also roped in veteran Congress leader Kiran Chaudhary, who is the daughter-in-law of former Chief Minister Bansilal.

In Haryana, the BJP plans to revamp its political equation and enter the assembly polls with a strong cast chemistry. In such a scenario, the BJP’s focus from the beginning has been on non-Jat votes, which led to Manohar Lal Khattar, who hails from the Punjabi community, being made the CM from 2014 to 2024. Now that he has been ousted, the crown of power has been handed over to Naib Singh Saini, who hails from the Saini caste in the OBC, who has started batting vigorously to win the assembly battle. Now it remains to be seen whether the BJP can score a hat-trick of power through non-Jat politics?

The question of political survival of small parties has arisen.

INLD is struggling for its political survival in Haryana. In such a situation, a plan has been made to contest elections together with BSP. In Haryana, BSP will contest on 37 seats and INLD will field its candidates on 53 seats. Abhay Chautala has been made the face of the Chief Ministership. INLD’s base is on Jat votes while BSP has hold on Dalit votes. In this way, INLD-BSP has staked its alliance to create Jat-Dalit chemistry. The Congress managed to win the Lok Sabha elections with the help of the Jat-Dalit equation, which the BSP and INLD are eyeing.

Dushyant Chautala has a challenge to save his political survival.

For Ajay Chautala and his son Dushyant Chautala, who rebelled against the INLD and formed their own party, this election is also about saving their political survival. The JJP emerged as the kingmaker in 2019, but Dushyant Chautala became the deputy CM, supporting the BJP government. In such a situation, the JJP’s alliance with the BJP fell apart before the Lok Sabha elections, after which Dushyant had to step down as Chautala Deputy CM. The JJP suffered a crushing defeat in the Lok Sabha elections, due to which many leaders and MLAs left the party. In such a situation JJP has a challenge to sustain its political survival?
