Book Tickets In Advance For Diwali-Chhath, Air Travel Has Become Expensive, Fares Have Increased A Lot Now

In the coming months, especially after Navratri, the festive season will begin in the country. In such a situation, if you are also planning to return home for Diwali, Chhath Puja or Onam, you must book flight tickets as early as possible because their fares are increasing rapidly.

During the festive season in the country, airfares have increased by 10-15 per cent on the dates of Diwali and Chhath Puja. This increase is being seen in one-way fares. On the other hand, on the occasion of Onam, flight fares to Kerala and other southern cities have increased by 20-25 per cent. This airfare calculation has been done mainly from Delhi.

The fare has increased a lot from Delhi.

The PTI report, based on an analysis by travel portal Ixigo, says that from October 30 to November 5, the average one-way fare in the economy category for a direct flight on the Delhi-Chennai route increased by 25 per cent to Rs 7,618. This fare has increased compared to November 10-16 last year.

During the same period, the ticket price on the Mumbai-Hyderabad route has increased by 21 per cent to Rs 5,162. Fares on the Delhi-Goa and Delhi-Ahmedabad routes have increased by 19 per cent to Rs 5,999 and Rs 4,930 respectively. While on other routes the fare has increased by 1 to 16 per cent.

Demand for tickets is increasing

Talking about the increase in fares, Ixigo CEO Rajneesh Kumar says that the demand for travel for Diwali is increasing. Airfares are also higher this year. In such a situation, the fare has increased rapidly during this year’s festive season compared to last year.

Ixigo’s analysis revealed that airfares on some routes like Bengaluru-Hyderabad and Mumbai-Jammu are lower than last year. At the same time, for Chhath Puja, fares on Delhi-Patna and Mumbai-Patna routes are rising even faster. In a few days, it may cross the 30 per cent level.
