Chhattisgarh: Major Action By CBI In Chhattisgarh PSC Recruitment Scam, Raids On 15 Candidate Places.


Chhattisgarh PSC Scam: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday raided 15 locations in the state in connection with the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission examination case. A major scam has come to light in the State Public Service Commission Recruitment Exam 2020 to 2022 in Chhattisgarh. The result of this exam was declared on 11 May 2023.

Under the scandal, it was alleged that high-ranking officials in the commission had appointed their unqualified relatives. The investigation of which was handed over to the CBI. At the same time, the CBI is raiding 15 locations including 6 in Raipur, 1 in Bilaspur and 2 in Dhamtari for allegedly taking advantage of nepotism.

The premises of 15 candidates were raided

Earlier, the offices of officials were raided in connection with the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission examination. At the same time, CBI is raiding the candidates today in this matter. In this case, the CBI has nominated 16 such candidates who were appointed to the posts of Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police and other major posts.

According to PTI, 15 of the 16 candidates’ houses were raided on Wednesday, while one candidate’s house was searched. In this case, former Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission chairman Taman Singh Sonwani, former secretary Jeevan Kishore Dhruv and a controller of examinations were booked in July for helping their sons, daughters, relatives get more marks in the merit list.

Sons and daughters of Congress leaders are also included

According to the agency, five family members of former commission chairman Sonwani were beneficiaries in the recruitment process. These five members include his son Nitish and daughter-in-law Nisha Kosale (Deputy Collector), elder brother’s son Sahil (Deputy Superintendent of Police), daughter-in-law Deepa Adil (District Excise Officer) and daughter Sunita Joshi (Labor Officer). ).

The complaint included in the CBI FIR has alleged that the candidates who got places in the merit list from serial number 1-171 are allegedly associated with government officials, politicians and influential persons. The complaint also names Congress leader Sudhir Katiar’s daughter Bhumika Katiar and son-in-law Shashank Goyal and Congress leader Rajendra Shukla’s daughter Swarnim Shukla.
