A Varanasi municipal health officer has accused a sanitation officer of storming into his office inside the municipal corporation and threatening to kill him. He has written to the Municipal Commissioner regarding the threat to his life.
Varanasi Municipal Health Officer Dr. PK Sharma has written to Municipal Commissioner Akshat Verma saying that Zonal Sanitation Officer Ravichandran Niranjan is threatening his life. Dr PK Sharma has alleged that the sanitation officer abused and beat him up. The office has been threatened with death. A case of garbage heap has come to light in the city.
Controversy over garbage collection
The fight between two officers at the Municipal Health Officer’s office on Friday afternoon has exposed the working system of the municipality. The fight took place over garbage collection in Ramnagar area. Dr.P.K.Sharma alleged that garbage is not being removed from Ramnagar area. For this, when the sanitation officer was called, he did not pick up the phone and blocked the number.
Mayor of Varanasi will report to Govt
A city health official said the sanitation officer attacked when questioned. In this matter, Mayor Ashok Tiwari said that the matter will be taken cognizance and the government will be informed for action. Here, CM Yogi is on a two-day visit to Banaras from Saturday. There may be a major action on this incident that happened before their visit.
