An encounter is going on between terrorists and security forces in Chatru area of ​​Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir. It is believed that two to three terrorists are hiding in this area. Police said that based on specific information about the presence of militants, security forces launched a joint search operation near the Dhanna Dhar forest area in the upper reaches of Gurinal village in Kishtwar district.

According to the police, the presence of some terrorists in the area was revealed during the search operation. A few rounds of firing were also fired from both sides. Currently, the security forces have cordoned off the entire area and are conducting an operation. Further information related to the encounter is yet to emerge.

A day ago there was firing in Riasi

Meanwhile, an extensive search operation is underway in the Chasna area of ​​Riasi district, where a gunfight broke out between militants and security forces on Friday evening. Officials said a search operation was launched at 1 pm on Friday based on a tip-off. During the search operation, there was an encounter with some terrorists in this area, after which firing took place.

The bus fell into a ditch in Budgam

Earlier on Friday, three soldiers were killed and over 30 injured when a bus of Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on election duty fell into a ditch in Budgam. After the incident, all the injured were admitted to the hospital where their condition is stable.

Tight security arrangements for elections

Assembly elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir. A tight security arrangement has been made across the union territory in view of the elections. Security forces are also conducting checking operations in various areas including the National Highway. Voting for the first phase of the election has been completed on September 18. Now voting for the second phase of elections will be held on September 25. After this, the last phase of voting will be held on October 1. The election results will be announced on October 8.
