A cloudburst in Himachal’s Srikhand has caused havoc in Samaj village of Rampur area. Around 25 houses have been washed away, four people have died and 49 people are missing in the disaster. Superintendent of Police, Shimla, Sanjiv Kumar Gandhi, said that a cloudburst near Srikhand Mahadev on Wednesday night caused flash floods in Sarpara, Ganvi and Kurban drains, resulting in several deaths due to rising water levels in Samaj Khud (drain). difficulty in rescue

A man from Shimla came to look for his nephew. He says that his nephew Samej was working in the power house of the village. Nothing is known about that either. Shimla DC Anupam Kashyap said that the way the situation has developed, rescue operations are a little difficult. We have deployed different teams.

Alert issued in Himachal

DC said that our efforts will be to find the dead bodies. NDRF, SDRF, local police, ITBP, police and home guard are engaged in rescue operations. The DC said that there is a possibility of people drifting away from Samaj village. Anupam Kashyap said that Himachal is on alert till morning. Therefore rescue operations cannot be carried out at night. So the work will be started from morning.
