Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of harassing the people of Jharkhand. He said that Mamata Banerjee is teaching a lesson to the people of Jharkhand by sealing the border of the state. And the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jharkhand is silent, because politics is more important to him.

CM Sharma said, ‘People of Bengal are suffering from floods due to the failure of Mamata government. But Mamata Didi is venting her anger not on her officials but on the people of Jharkhand. She is teaching a lesson to the people of Jharkhand by sealing the state border and the state government is silent. Entry of heavy vehicles from Jharkhand is prohibited at Dibudih check post in Bengal.

This is a matter of honor for the people of Jharkhand

Himanta Biswa Sarma is the BJP’s co-in-charge for the assembly elections in Jharkhand later this year. He has come to Jharkhand to participate in the BJP’s ‘Parivartan Rally’, which will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Sahibganj. In a post on social media platform ‘X’, Sarma has accused the Mamata Banerjee government of insulting the public by stopping vehicles from Jharkhand.

He said, ‘This issue is not related to any political party, it is an issue of honor for the people of Jharkhand, but the JMM has maintained silence because for them the duty of politics is greater than the duty of the state. People of Jharkhand should think whether they should give another chance to a party which is not able to protect the dignity of their state.

Truck traffic has come to a complete standstill on NH-2.

The development comes at a time when Bengal Chief Minister Banerjee has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi saying that the state will sever all ties with the Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC). Because it released water unilaterally which led to flooding in the districts of South Bengal. He claimed that the unplanned and unilateral release of large volumes of water from the combined system of Mathon and Panchet dams owned and maintained by DVC has caused widespread destruction.
