Clemson sophomore receiver Cole Turner was named to the 2024 Comeback Player of the Year Award watch list by the College Sports Communicators in association with The Associated Press (AP) and the Fiesta Bowl Organization Wednesday.

Turner begins his third season in the Clemson program. He appeared in the Tigers’ first two games a year ago before suffering a season-ending injury in Clemson’s Week 3 victory over Florida Atlantic, tearing three abductor muscles after making a combined three catches for 28 yards in the first two games of 2023. He caught eight passes for 161 yards as a freshman in 2022.

Turner is one of 17 ACC players who made the watch list. Three recipients are presented with the award each year at the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. Last year, the three recipients were Michigan’s Blake Corum, Virginia’s Mike Hollins and Holy Cross’ Jacob Dobbs.

Listed at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, Turner was rated a three-star recruit out of Birmingham’s Vestavia Hills High School in the 2022 recruiting class.
