Congressmen Affiliated With Mission Gujarat, Will Win 52 Seats In 6 Districts Through Rahul-Priyanka Nyaya Yatra.

Assembly elections in Gujarat are still more than 3 years away, but the Congress has already started working on Mission-Gujarat to demolish this stronghold of the Bharatiya Janata Party. Congress is first focusing on those districts where it is zero in terms of seats. Under this strategy, the party has decided to take out Nyaya Yatra from 6 districts of Gujarat.

The yatra will be taken out from districts where accidents have occurred and hundreds of people died due to administrative failure in recent times. Congress plans to include Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyanka Gandhi in this Nyaya Yatra.

Routemap of Congress’s Justice Journey

The journey, which will begin on the anniversary of Quit India, will be around 300 km. This journey will start from Morbi and go to Gandhinagar. According to the Congress, after Morbi, the yatra will reach Gandhinagar via Tankara, Rajkot, Chotila, Surendranagar, Viramgam, Sanand and Ahmedabad.

Congress has decided to keep away from dhol-nagara in the reception of Nyaya Yatra. According to the party, whenever the Yatra enters another city, Congressmen will welcome each other by distributing yarn instead of beating drums.

The party has kept the face of Yatra in favor of the victim’s family. No local level leader has been featured in the poster released by Gujarat Congress on social media.

Equation of the districts through which the Yatra will pass

The Congress is undertaking this journey to bring justice to the victims, but every action of the parties has a definite political meaning. Assembly elections are due in 2027 in Gujarat, where the Congress has been out of power for the past 30 years. Rahul Gandhi recently talked about defeating the BJP in Gujarat in Parliament.

In such a situation, let’s know the political equations of the districts from which Congress’ Nyaya Yatra is leaving.

1. There are 52 assembly seats in 6 districts.

There are 52 Assembly constituencies in six districts from where Congress’ Nyaya Yatra will start. Ahmedabad has maximum 21 assembly seats. This is followed by 10 seats in Vadodara, 8 in Rajkot, 5 in Gandhinagar, 5 in Surendranagar and 3 in Morbi. There are total 182 assembly seats in the state. In terms of percentage, these 52 seats are equal to 30 percent of the total seats.

At least 92 seats are required to form the government in Gujarat.

2. Congress won only 2

In the 2022 assembly elections, the Congress won only 2 of these 52 seats. That too from Ahmedabad district. Congress has lost in Surendranagar, Morbi, Rajkot and Gandhinagar. Out of these 52 seats, BJP won 49 seats. However, there were no such results in 2017.

In 2017, Congress won 18 out of 52 seats in these districts. Congress was leading in Surendranagar, Gandhinagar and Morbi. The party also performed well in Rajkot.

Political equation of Gujarat

Gujarat, which was once a stronghold of Congress, has become a stronghold of BJP for the last 30 years. In the last one decade, Congress has been steadily shrinking in Gujarat. During this period the Congress has declined in urban as well as rural areas of the state.

According to CSDS, the Congress got only 30 percent votes in rural areas in the 2022 assembly elections. This figure was 43 percent in 2017 and 42 percent in 2012. Even in urban areas, Congress votes have declined.

In 2022, the party got about 24 percent of the vote in urban areas, down from 39 percent in 2017 and 35 percent in 2012. Talking about the seats, the Congress currently has 12 seats in Gujarat and the party has not even got the Leader of the Opposition chair.
