Court Ordered Trial Against 19 Policemen Including Chandauli Crime Branch, Why?

Gazipur Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Swapan Anand’s court on September 21 registered a case against 19 police personnel, including the then crime branch inspector of Chandauli, after accepting a petition under Section 156 (3) filed by dismissed chief constable Anil Kumar Singh. The police have been ordered to register a case in Nandganj. An inquiry has also been ordered. Ever since the order was passed by the CJM court, there has been panic in the police department, as the case is high profile and involves inspectors, sub-inspectors and constables.

In the petition filed in the court, the then Superintendent of Police Chandauli and the in-charge inspector have been accused of misusing their position and collecting illegal amount every month. The recovery list was made viral by the petitioner Anil Kumar Singh, which led to the dismissal of constable Anil by the then SP Chandauli on 28 February 2021, but he was reinstated on court orders and is currently working in Varanasi.

Constable Anil was kidnapped

Anil Kumar Singh’s lawyer Mannu Lal said that the petitioner was abducted on September 5, 2021 by some people in plain clothes from his in-laws’ house in Badhra village of Nandganj police station area. As soon as Constable Anil’s wife Khushbu came to know about the abduction, she called Dial-112 and informed about the incident. Advocate Munnu Lal said that after the abduction, he was kept at an unknown place for three days and was later sent to jail in a murder case.

Action was taken after the complaint

Later his service was also terminated, but when he came out on bail, he took the help of the court. The vigilance wing of the police department also investigated her complaint and submitted a full report to the department finding her complaint to be true. However, no action has been taken by the police department. As no action was taken in this case, Constable Anil Kumar Singh applied to the court.

The court has ordered an FIR against 19 people

It was stated in the petition that four persons were killed in the matter of exposing corruption and were also abducted with intent to kill. In the order given by the Gazipur court, an FIR has been ordered against a total of 19 people, including an inspector and a constable.
