Defense Minister Condoles 2 Jawans Martyred In Encounter With Terrorists In Jammu And Kashmir

Two jawans were killed and four injured in an anti-terror operation by security forces in south Kashmir’s Anantnag. On Saturday, a group of terrorists opened fire targeting the security forces in a forest area. Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday expressed deep grief over the martyrdom of Indian Army soldiers. Earlier, the Indian Army expressed its deep condolences. And said that he stands strongly with the families of the victims in this hour.

In his ex-post, the Defense Minister said, ‘Deeply saddened by the martyrdom of our brave and fearless Indian Army personnel in the anti-terrorist operation at Kokarnag in Anantnag. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The nation stands strong with him in this hour of sorrow. Lieutenant Commander Praveen Sharma and Bahadur Havildar Deepak Kumar Yadav were martyred in the ongoing encounter with terrorists in Anantnag.

The army surrounded the area

An army spokesperson said the encounter started in the Ahlan Gagar-Mandu area of ​​Anantnag district. In response, army personnel are busy with their work. According to an official, two other civilians were also injured in the firing by the terrorists. The encounter took place during an anti-terrorist operation being carried out by security forces against terrorists. Officials said six army soldiers and two civilians were injured in the encounter.

At the same time, the injured soldiers were rushed to the nearest hospital, where after a few minutes the doctors declared both the brave soldiers as martyrs. A large number of troops were deployed at the encounter site following the activities of the terrorists. The security forces have surrounded the terrorists from all sides. There are reports that two more terrorists are hiding in the forests of Gadol.

Army has released sketches of four terrorists

Earlier in the day, police released sketches of four terrorists in Dhok areas of Bani, Malhar and Sojdhar in Kathua district. The army has announced a reward of Rs 5 lakh each for information about these terrorists and their identification.
