The tension between the Delhi government and the Lt. Governor has increased once again. Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj has accused Lt Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena of spreading lies against the Delhi government under the guise of officials in his office. Saurabh Bhardwaj said that nature is creating opportunities again and again that we expose the incumbent LG Vinay Kumar Saxena in Delhi at every opportunity, the LG office again served lies yesterday. I want the Lt. Governor to come forward and speak openly.
People are facing difficulties due to lack of staff in all the government hospitals or dispensaries of Delhi where doctors, OT staff, technicians etc. are needed. The poor have hope from government hospitals but there is someone who blocks appointments. The recruitment of doctors, nurses and operation theater technicians has been stopped under a conspiracy by the LG office.
‘Doctors were not even listened to by hiring them on immediate contracts’
Saurabh Bhardwaj said that yesterday LG office said that there are posts in Asha Kiran but the posts are vacant because of Delhi Govt. I joined as Health Minister in March last year and first wrote a letter to LG on April 19. Vacancies in hospitals. Subsequently, Central Health Service personnel working in Delhi hospitals were also recalled under a conspiracy. I told LG that recruitment from UPSC will take time, so you should hire doctors on contract immediately as hospitals do not have specialist doctors for operations, but doctors are not recruited.
Govt’s Claim – We wrote to LG several times
I wrote again on June 6 and after that I wrote again to the LG through the Chief Minister on June 2 this year, taking detailed information about the vacancies in each hospital in Delhi. After this nothing happened. After this, I wrote to the Principal Health Secretary on June 25 that so many new hospitals are being built and we don’t have medical staff, but there was no response from the Health Secretary either. On July 26, I again wrote to the LG.
They run away and blame us too: Minister
Dr. Sarin’s report of the committee formed by the High Court has also revealed that there is a severe shortage of doctors and staff. But LG is not worried. They run away from their responsibility and blame us for it. LG: Don’t attack in secret, don’t lie to people in your office.
On the issue that most of the Cabinet meetings of the Delhi government are held by rotation and there is no physical meeting of the Cabinet, Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said that any decision comes last in the Cabinet. Before that there is a discussion going on among all the people regarding this matter. Meetings can also be held by rotation if all agree. Not only the cabinet, many meetings around the world can be held by rotation. There is no problem with this. The officer who doesn’t even reveal his name has objections. What can we say about his opposition?
‘Secretaries running departments in Delhi’
Saurabh Bhardwaj said that in any government, be it central or state, if a minister resigns, or is removed, a minister can be given a department that no one else has. But in the case of Delhi, the Center or the Lieutenant Governor made it so that these departments would be run by the Secretary. It is the CM’s right to decide who he wants to make a minister. We have not made him a minister.
