The month of September was not even over when the smog of pollution began to appear in Delhi. Smog was seen in many places in Delhi on Tuesday. The sudden rise in air pollution has raised concerns across Delhi NCR. The pollution seen around Diwali is already taking its toll in Delhi. Delhi’s AQI crossed 200 on Tuesday.

Incidents of thali burning are once again coming to the fore in Punjab, due to which smog is visible in Delhi. The Supreme Court on Tuesday reprimanded the government and called for a reply. If we talk about the data till 5 pm on Tuesday, the Air Quality Index has crossed 200. According to the index, an AQI above 200 falls in the poor category, if we talk about Noida and Ghaziabad, the AQI situation here was worse.

AQI crossed 208 in Noida and AQI crossed 300 in Ghaziabad on Tuesday evening. However, compared to Noida and Ghaziabad, the weather in Gurugram remained slightly cleaner. However, AQI remained above 15 in Gurugram as well. The alarming level of pollution in Delhi even before the onset of winter is not good news for the people living here. The suffocating toxic air has begun.

The Supreme Court called for a reply

On Tuesday, the hearing of the above case was also held in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has sought an answer from the Air Quality Management Commission as to why stubble burning is not being stopped even when strict instructions have been issued on stubble burning. The Supreme Court has asked the Commission to respond in clear terms as to what steps are being taken to prevent the burning of plots.

Delhi temperature

As for the temperature in Delhi, the maximum temperature on Tuesday was 37.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal. If we talk about the minimum temperature, it was 26.4 degrees. This is also 2.5 degrees above normal. Delhi NCR is likely to see a maximum temperature of 36 degrees and a minimum temperature of 26 degrees on Wednesday as well.
