Delhi-Ncr Rain: Heavy Rain Halts Traffic, Heavy Jam On Delhi-Gurugram Road; Police Has Issued A Traffic Advisory


Long traffic jam after rain

It is raining heavily in many states of the country. Rains have wreaked havoc in Kerala, Uttarakhand and Assam. The people of NCR, including the capital Delhi, were suffering from humidity and heat for the past few days. But on Wednesday, the weather turned pleasant due to heavy rains in Delhi and surrounding areas, giving people relief from the heat. But in the meantime the traffic has worsened.

Heavy rains in Delhi-NCR have left roads flooded. Roads are flooded due to which people are facing great hardship. The traffic police has also issued an advisory and diverted several routes. According to the India Meteorological Department, Delhi recorded a minimum temperature of 26.4 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, which is one degree Celsius below the normal temperature for this season.

Long traffic jam due to rain

Traffic jam on Gurugram-Delhi road due to rain. Vehicles are seen moving on the road. A video of the traffic jam has also surfaced in which it can be clearly seen that there are long queues of vehicles. Trains are moving periodically. The situation is such that even autos and cabs are not available for public transportation.

Water vapor under Minto Bridge

A lot of water has flooded under the Minto Bridge in Delhi due to rain. Many sectors of Noida are also submerged in water. Traffic has been diverted to Fateh Singh Marg due to waterlogging. Traffic on road leading from Nangloi to Tikri border and Rohtak road has been affected due to waterlogging in Mundka. Traffic has been diverted to Connaught Place Outer Circle due to waterlogging under Minto Bridge.

Gurugram Traffic Police has issued an advisory

The Gurugram Traffic Police has issued an advisory saying that Bilaspur Chowk, Skon Mandir and Area Mall and Tikri Cut are heavily flooded. There is a long traffic jam from Delhi’s ITO to Lakshmi Nagar, while vehicular queues on the roads due to waterlogging in Connaught Place and Mandi House after rains. Minto Bridge was flooded. A similar situation was seen in Delhi-NCR.

Along with this, there is heavy traffic jam on the roads going from Delhi to NCR. There are traffic jams on roads leading to Lutyens Delhi and Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad and Faridabad. Other main roads including Outer Ring Road, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Marg and Mahatma Gandhi Marg are also in similar condition. Several areas including Kashmiri Gate, Karol Bagh and Pragati Maidan are completely submerged. There are traffic jams at ITO Intersection, Dhaula Kuan area and the road leading to the airport. There is knee-deep water here.
