Delhi: People Sleeping On The Footpath In Shastri Park Area Were Crushed By A Truck, 3 Tragically Killed, 2 Injured.

A major road accident took place in Delhi today i.e. Monday morning. An out-of-control truck crushed five people sleeping on a divider in North East Delhi’s Shastri Park area. Three people died in this accident, while two people were seriously injured. The injured are being treated at Jag Pravesh Chand Hospital.

The accident took place at 4.56 am today. Delhi Police received a PCR call that a speeding truck from Seelampur had climbed the footpath divider and crushed some people, an official said. A team reached the spot as soon as the information was received. Five people were found to have been crushed by the truck. All were rushed to hospital, where three died.

A police officer said that the dead are being identified. Meanwhile, the truck driver fled from the spot after the accident. His search is on. Police are scanning the CCTV footage of the surrounding areas. He will be arrested soon.

Police are busy searching for the truck driver

The officer said that a case under section 281,106,125A has been registered at Shastri Park police station. A search has been launched for the accused driver. The police also tried to question the people present at the spot, but no one could tell the number of the truck. The police said that if the health of the injured improves, the information about the accident will also be taken from them. An attempt will be made to know their names and addresses.

Postmortem of the dead bodies will be done

Police said that the three bodies have been recovered. A postmortem will be done. After this, the dead body will be handed over to the family as soon as they are informed.
