Accused doctor and lab assistant in Hardoi police custody

Doctors are called gods on earth, but one doctor in Hardoi did something that put the entire profession to shame. This doctor along with the lab assistant first gave an HIV positive report to a pregnant woman who came for delivery and then extorted 55 thousand rupees in the name of treatment. When the woman became suspicious, she got the test done at another lab. After her report came back negative, the woman complained to the CMO. Now, based on the CMO’s report, the police have registered a case against the accused doctor, lab assistant, Asha Bahu and the nurse.

The doctor and the lab assistant have been arrested under sections of the Gangster Act. According to Swajpur Kotwali Police in Hardoi, the case is related to New Hind Hospital. According to Kotwal Alok Mani Tripathi, the accused have been identified as lab assistant Sachin Dixit, resident of Simaria village and doctor Himanshu Pathak of Sravasti district. Both have been arrested and sent to jail. He said that a case has also been registered against Asha’s daughter-in-law Rekha and nurse Lakshmi in this matter. The matter is being investigated. If necessary, they will be arrested.

The incident took place on June 30

According to Kotwal, preliminary investigation has revealed that all these accused were systematically intimidating people by claiming they were suffering from a serious illness and then extorting huge amounts of money from them. According to Kotwal Alok Mani Tripathi, about a month ago on June 30, a pregnant woman from Bharkhani village came to Pali Health Center for delivery. Here the doctor conducted his blood test. In which the lab operator reported that the woman was HIV positive.
