The Florida football program added a recruit from the junior college ranks to its roster last week as [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] and Co. put the final touches on the team ahead of the 2024 campaign.

Hutchinson (Kansas) C.C. defensive lineman Tarvorise Brown originally out of Palm Bay, Florida, was in the 2025 recruiting class, but an offer from the Gators during the Grill in the Ville event last Saturday changed things quickly. He returned to Gainesville on Monday and remained in town until Wednesday.

It was on that final day that the 6-foot-7-inch, 290-pound trench warrior decided to skip his upcoming JUCO campaign and join the Orange and Blue as a preferred walk-on this fall.

Upon receiving his offer from Florida, the massive student-athlete was high on the Gators.

“This is the top school right here,” Brown said after receiving Florida’s offer. “I never thought it would be a moment like this where I get offered by a team that I’ve seen on television. It’s just a blessing to come here.”

One of the big draws for Brown is the system that Napier’s staff has put into place. The transition from his current school to the Swamp should be more seamless thanks to the similarity in schemes.

“They are trying to teach me all the things that I’m learning in JUCO,” Brown offered. “They said if I can just transfer that here, it’s the same things they are doing here. It’s surprising to them that I am doing it there. They said they could just get me right now and be able to learn the same thing.”

As for what he thinks stands out about himself to Florida comes down to his physical talents.

“They say I am a real humble guy, I got a story. They really like my height and my wingspan. They think they can just use me, and I can be that guy at defensive tackle.”

Only Rivals has a rating for Brown, who it assigns three stars as a JUCO transfer.
