Ghazipur: 363 Schools Have No Principal, Only One Teacher In 59… Only Government ‘jugad’ Works

The central and state governments claim to have defeated private schools after spending crores of rupees on the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Department, but the truth of their claim is borne out by the fact that out of the 2,269 running council schools in Gazipur district, 363 are council schools. There is a post of principal but no principal. That is, all these schools are being run by the department under Jugaad policy.

The education department has been working for a long time by making the assistant teachers posted in these schools as in-charge principals. It can be said that the district has the highest number of schools in the primary education department. With more schools, the district has the largest number of teachers, instructors and teaching assistants, who work to teach the students attending the school. Apart from this, they also claim to run schools like convent schools by making them hi-tech with the budget provided by the Uttar Pradesh government.

363 schools have no principal

Although this seems impossible in Ghazipur, as these schools are run from classes 1 to 5 and as per the norm there should be one teacher for all classes, but there are 59 council schools in Ghazipur, where the entire school is being run on the basis of only one teacher. is Not only this, 363 long-standing council schools in the district do not have principals.

There are 8,362 teachers, 2,589 teaching assistants and 383 instructors in the entire district. If we talk about right to education, one teacher should be appointed for every 30 children in class 1 to 5.

Schools run on the basis of In-charge Principal

If seen from this perspective, the Basic Education Department is still not able to meet this standard. When Hemant Rao, the Principal Education Officer was spoken to about this, he said that currently there is a shortage of principals in many schools of the division, but the schools are being run by making the teachers appointed as in-charge principals. The number of principals in the district will be replenished when the teachers are promoted in the coming days.

Regarding the shortage of teachers in many schools of the district, Basic Education Officer Hemant Rao said that the department is working on the adjustment process in the coming days. For this adjustment has to be done online. Adjustment of teachers will also be done soon.
