Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Ma has taken an important initiative to improve the traffic system in the historic city of Dinanagar. On Monday, he dedicated the newly constructed railway overbridge on the Amritsar-Pathankot railway section near Dinanagar railway station to the people of the city.
Built at a cost of 51.74 crores, this railway over bridge is a big gift from the Chief Minister to the people of the city. This railway overbridge has been constructed in place of C-60 level crossing on Amritsar-Pathankot railway section near Dinanagar railway station in Gurdaspur district.
Special initiative of Punjab Govt
Chief Minister Bhagwant Ma said that this work includes the railway section and the connecting road. The Punjab government has spent the entire money for it. This 7.30 m long and 10.5 m wide project was started in 2019 and has been completed on time.
0.75 m wide footpaths have been constructed on both sides of this railway overbridge and highway lights have also been arranged on the service roads on both sides. Adequate parking is provided under the bridge with paver tiles. This project is very important for the residents of the city and it will prove to be helpful in streamlining the traffic.
Villagers of Dinanagar will get facility
With the construction of this railway overbridge, the C-60 level crossing on the Amritsar-Pathankot railway line will be eliminated. With this, the people coming from border villages to Dinanagar city will get uninterrupted transportation facility. This will also become a strategic avenue for military activity, which will facilitate the protection of the country’s unity, integrity and sovereignty.
