The Madhya Pradesh government made a major announcement on Tuesday, according to which gas cylinders will be provided to the beneficiaries of Ladli Brahmin Yojana for just Rs 450 throughout the year. This will bring a huge relief to women from the onslaught of inflation. Let us tell you that Laadli Brahmin Yojana was founded by former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
In a written reply in Rajya Sabha on Monday, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said the central government has provided a subsidy of up to Rs 200 per cylinder on 12 refills in a year to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) on cylinders up to 14.2 kg of Ellava LPG. Apart from this, with effect from October 5, 2023, the Centre has increased the targeted subsidy for all beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana to Rs 300 per cylinder.
How much is the cylinder available in Delhi?
According to the Ministry of Petroleum, the current retail price of domestic LPG in Delhi is Rs 803 per cylinder. This rate is for a 14.2 kg cylinder. Since the government has provided a subsidy of Rs 300 per cylinder, PMUY consumers will get a 14.2 kg cylinder for Rs 503 in Delhi.
What is Ladli Brahmin Yojana?
This scheme was launched in March 2023. Through this scheme, the Madhya Pradesh government provides financial assistance to women in the state to strengthen them economically, improve their health and nutrition and help them create a stronger position in the family. Under this, the beneficiaries associated with the scheme are given Rs 1,250 every month. Normally this amount is given before the 10th of every month. Earlier, under this scheme, one thousand rupees were given to the beneficiaries, which was later increased to Rs 1,250.
