The Pushkar Singh Dhami government of Uttarakhand has also taken a major decision regarding the participation of government employees in RSS activities. The Dhami government has lifted the ban on employees participating in union activities. The Chief Minister has said that government employees will be able to participate in the cultural and social activities of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. However, the government has also kept some conditions for this.
Earlier in July, the Home Ministry of the Government of India issued an order lifting the 58-year-old ban on government employees participating in Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh events. The Uttarakhand government has also taken this important decision by extending the same order of the central government. After this order, government employees will be able to participate in union programs with certain conditions.
The association organizes programs from time to time
RSS is a cultural and social organisation. Apart from morning and evening programs cultural programs are also organized by the institute from time to time. Many government employees could not participate due to restrictions. The central government took the first step in this regard. In this regard, it will no longer be considered a violation of the State Employees Conduct Rules, 2002 even in Uttarakhand.
Conditions imposed for participation in activities
However, the government order has clarified that employees can participate in RSS branch and other cultural-social activities only if it does not interfere with the discharge of government business. There is a clear instruction from the government that anyone can participate in union activities before and after office hours only.
