On receiving the information, the forces of several police stations, including the Additional Superintendent of Police, reached the spot. More than a dozen villagers involved in the panchayat have been detained. The police have seized the cut hair of the woman and the video of the incident is quickly going viral on social media.
Having an illicit relationship with a woman
The case is from Chotki Ibrahimpur village of Hathigawan police station area. Here a woman has three children. The elder son is about 12 years old and there are two younger daughters. The woman’s husband lives and works in Mumbai. It is alleged that the woman has an illicit relationship with a youth from the same village. This news slowly spread in the village. The villagers objected to this but the young man did not stop coming to the woman’s house. In order not to spoil the atmosphere of the village, people talked about stopping the illicit relationship, but the relationship between the two continued.
The panchayat issued Tughlaq’s decree
Panchayats have been held many times in this regard. On Sunday, the villagers again held a panchayat in this matter. An order was issued to punish both of them, associating their illicit relationship with the honor of the village. The woman and her lover were tied to a tree and their faces were blackened and then it was decided to cut their hair. Hearing this, the lover present in the panchayat ran away from the clutches of the villagers. The villagers caught the married woman and took her to the garden and tied her to a tree. They blackened the woman’s face and also cut off all her hair.

On the other hand, the lover, who escaped from the clutches of the villagers, reported this to the police and created a lot of commotion. Police from many police stations reached the village. The police are bringing more than a dozen people associated with the panchayat to the police station for questioning. A video of this incident has also gone viral. In which the woman’s children can be heard saying that they were the ones who tied their mother to a tree and blackened her face, but questions are being raised as to how young children could have carried out the incident. Police have arrested 15 people in this case.
