Gurugram: Innocent 5-year-old Drowns In BPTP Society Swimming Pool, No Life Guards On Site.


A tragic accident has occurred in a society in Gurugram, adjacent to the national capital Delhi. A five-year-old innocent child drowned in the society’s swimming pool. The child first remained in the water for about 3 minutes, causing him to suffocate and die from water filling his lungs. Even after this his body remained floating on the surface of the water for about 10 minutes. However, no lifeguard came. Meanwhile, the other children became suspicious and informed their families.

The family members went and saw that the child was unconscious. The child was rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead. The heartbreaking incident took place on Wednesday evening at BPTP Park Sarin Society, Sector 37D, Gurugram. According to police, the deceased child has been identified as Mivansh Singla, 5-year-old son of Binny Singla, who lives in J Tower of the society. Studied at Suncity School. On Wednesday evening he came to bathe in the swimming pool with his grandmother Rama Singla.

Suffocation due to water filling the lungs

Here he was bathing in a pool made for children. Meanwhile, his grandmother came to his flat to buy food items for him. While bathing here, Mivansh came to a depth of 4 feet and started drowning. With no one else around, water filled his lungs shortly and he died of suffocation. Other children who were bathing a short distance away suddenly noticed Mivansh and found him lying face down on the surface of the water and not moving.

There was no guard at the time of the accident

Suspicious, the children told their families. After this, the children’s families took Mivansh out. Seeing his condition, people suspected something untoward and rushed him to the hospital, where doctors declared the child brought dead. The people of the society alleged that the accident happened due to the negligence of the builder’s maintenance agency. The builder has deployed these life guards, but no guard was present at the time of the accident.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV

Virendra Chhabra, a resident of the society, said the child’s body floated in the swimming pool for about 10 minutes, but no life guard came to rescue him. Sandeep Kumar, in-charge of Sector 10 police station, who reached the spot on receiving the information, said that the child’s body has been recovered and sent for post-mortem. The police are investigating the matter. According to the police, this incident has also been recorded in the CCTV camera. At present, the police have taken possession of the CCTV footage and are conducting an investigation.
