The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Janayak Janata Party (JJP) on Thursday clarified that they are not in talks for a pre-poll alliance in Haryana. In Fatehabad, senior AAP leader Sandeep Pathak ruled out any talk of an alliance with JJP for the October 1 polls. JJP leader Dushyant Chautala said in Jind that his party is ready to contest all 90 seats in the state. Dushyant Chautala targeted the Congress over the Rajya Sabha elections, saying that Bhupendra Singh Hooda is afraid of going to jail, that’s why his party has not fielded any candidate.
Dushyant Chautala while addressing the workers at the party’s district office in Jind said that the JJP will contest all the 90 assembly seats in Haryana and this time also the lock of the assembly will be opened with JJP’s key. There are no alliances with you yet. Anyway, if your alliance is with Congress how can it be with JJP.
MLAs left JJP
On the question of some MLAs leaving JJP and joining Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dushyant Chautala said that Ramkaran Kala’s son joined Congress during the Lok Sabha elections itself, now Ramkaran has also joined. Even during the Lok Sabha elections, some MLAs were holding rallies in favor of BJP, so now they have joined the party.
Finalize the list of candidates
On the question of announcing candidates for the assembly polls, the JJP leader said that the list of candidates would be finalized by convening a meeting of the Advisory Committee on Political Affairs before September 1. Targeting the Congress, he said that the Congress has not fielded its candidate for the Rajya Sabha elections because of the fear of Bhupendra Singh Hooda going to jail. He has nexus with BJP.
Hooda is afraid of going to jail
Dushyant Chautala said that Congress has 30 MLAs and JJP has only three. We cannot file nominations but we had already announced that we would support (Congress) if Congress fielded a candidate in Rajya Sabha but Hooda could not show courage. They are afraid of going to jail.
Apart from this, Ucha MLA Dushyant Chautala visited various villages of the area including Khapar, Bhangra. He called upon the workers to put aside their grievances and gear up for the elections. On making Kiran Chaudhary a Rajya Sabha candidate, Dushyant Chautala said that he (Chaudhary) might have joined the BJP on the condition (that he would be made the BJP’s Rajya Sabha candidate).
AAP will announce candidates
On the other hand, AAP leader Pathak said that his party will soon announce its candidates for the assembly elections. After a meeting of party workers and officials in Fatehabad, he said there was no discussion about an alliance with the JJP.
Dushyant should not spread illusions about the coalition.
He held two meetings on Thursday, one in Fatehabad (with workers and office-bearers of Sirsa and Hisar Lok Sabha constituencies) and another in Bhiwani (with workers and office-bearers of Bhiwani-Mahendragarh and Rohtak Lok Sabha constituencies). When asked about any possibility of alliance with JJP, Pathak said we don’t know which party JJP is in alliance with, I want to tell Dushyant Chautala not to spread illusion about alliance.
