A four-member delegation of 69,000 teacher recruitment candidates in Uttar Pradesh met Bahujan Samaj Party president and former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mayawati on Wednesday, September 11. Meanwhile, the candidates submitted a memorandum to the BSP chief and also spoke about the irregularities in implementation of reservation by the government.
Assuring the candidates, Mayawati said that this fight is our fight and we are keeping a close eye on it. He said that injustice to reserved category candidates will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Targeting the Yogi government, the former CM said that it is the government’s failure that the matter has reached the Supreme Court. By now everyone would have got justice if the government wanted. But because of the government today reserved category candidates are facing difficulties.
‘All candidates should get justice’
Further, the former chief minister said that had the double bench decision come, the government could have gone ahead with it but it waited and now the matter has reached the Supreme Court. He said that the government should ensure that no candidate is treated unfairly and everyone gets justice.

In fact, the Supreme Court has stayed the decision of the Allahabad High Court in the matter of recruitment of 69 thousand teachers in UP. Candidates are worried about that. On Tuesday, Mayawati said that the Uttar Pradesh government should take an honest stand in the matter of teacher recruitment, and also ensure that nothing goes wrong with any reserved category candidates. Candidates should get their constitutional rights. Mayawati said this by sharing a post on social media.
The next hearing will be held on September 25
In this case, the High Court had ordered to prepare a fresh merit list as per the provision of reservation. Candidates are agitating in the state after the court order. Some candidates approached the Supreme Court against the High Court’s order, after which the Supreme Court stayed the High Court’s decision and issued notices to the state government and the secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board, among others. The next hearing of this case will be on September 25.
