A case of dowry practice has been registered against a sub-inspector in his own police station in Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur. His wife Prachi Pandey has filed a case of dowry harassment against Sub Inspector Nitin Pandey in-charge of Bus Stand Chowki of Madan Mahal Police Station. The case has been registered at the Madan Mahal Women’s Police Station. Nitin Pandey has been accused of harassing his wife Prachi for taking an SUV car as dowry since three months of their marriage.
Sub Inspector Nitin Pandey got married in 2016 to Prachi Pandey, who is the maternal sister of Pranay Pandey, BJP MLA from Bahoriband, Katni. After marriage, she was harassed for dowry by her husband Nitin, retired police TI father-in-law Nand Kishore Pandey, brother-in-law Sumit Pandey and mother-in-law Seema Pandey. It is alleged that the Pandey family was demanding an SUV car despite giving a dowry of Rs 30 lakh and wedding goods at the time of marriage.
Nitin Pandey went on leave after registering the FIR
Prachi Pandey’s maternal uncle, former MLA Prabhat Pandey, bore the entire wedding expenses. After the FIR was registered in this case, Nitin Pandey went on leave and also deleted many photos from his Facebook account. It is being said that earlier Prachi’s family sat down and talked about reconciliation several times, but Sub Inspector Nitin Pandey’s family did not listen and remained adamant.

Further action will be taken according to whatever facts emerge in the investigation.
