A shocking case has come to light from the country’s capital, Delhi. In East Delhi’s Shakarpur area, the landlord’s son installed spy cameras in the bedroom and bathroom of a student preparing for UPSC. The accused used to save the video footage of the student in his laptop. The revelation came when the student’s WhatsApp account was found to be linked to an unknown laptop.

The student has complained to the Delhi Police in this matter. Police investigated and found spy cameras in bulb holders installed in rooms and bathrooms. The accused youth has been arrested. A spy camera and two laptops have been recovered from him. Police have registered a case against him. A student lives alone in a rented house. She trusted the landlord’s son and gave him the room key. The accused installed cameras in the student’s bedroom and bathroom.

The camera was installed in the bulb holder of the bathroom

According to the police, a girl who is preparing for a competitive exam at East Delhi’s Shakarpur police station lives alone in Delhi. The victim noticed some unusual activity on his WhatsApp, the WhatsApp account of his linked mobile was logged into an unknown laptop. He immediately logged out. The student suspected that cameras were installed in his room. Becoming suspicious, he began searching for hidden cameras in his apartment. He found the camera embedded in his bathroom bulb holder.

The student informed the police

The student was shocked to see this. He called the PCR and informed the police. SI Rakesh immediately reached the spot and investigated, finding another camera installed in the bulb holder of his bedroom. The victim said that whenever she went somewhere, she used to hand over her house key to the landlord’s son Karan, who lived on a different floor of the same building, whom she trusted blindly. Based on the student’s complaint, the police took the accused Karan into custody.

During police interrogation, Karan admitted that he had given the key to the girl’s house three months ago when she left for her hometown in Uttar Pradesh. Seizing the opportunity, Karan bought three spy cameras commonly available in the electronics market. He installed one camera in the girl’s bedroom and one in her bathroom. As these cameras could not be operated online and memory cards were used to store the video.

Used to save data in laptops

The accused kept asking the girl for the room key on the pretext of repairing electric wires and fans, so that he could transfer the recorded videos from the memory card to his laptop. During the investigation, another spy camera was recovered from Karan’s possession, along with two laptops used to collect the recorded videos. The police have registered a case against the accused under FIR 77 BNS at PS Shakarpur. Accused Karan is being interrogated.
