Jabalpur: ‘To Marry Or Not To Marry?’ The Boyfriend Asked His Girlfriend, When She Refused, He Poured Petrol And Set Her On Fire.

A heartbreaking incident took place at Mastana Chowk under Ranji Police Station in Jabalpur district. A lover attacked his married girlfriend in broad daylight with a petrol-filled balloon and set her on fire in the middle of a market. While setting the fire, petrol also spilled on the accused lover, due to which he also got burnt. The entire incident was captured in the CCTV camera. In the CCTV footage, it can be clearly seen that the accused lover comes in the car and pours petrol on his girlfriend. Both are seen running here and there after the fire.

Police interrogation revealed that Narendra Punjabi (40) and Sapna Yadav (42) had an affair. Narendra was in one sided love with Sapna. Narendra wanted to fill Sapna with vermilion and become his wife. Sapna Yadav, a mother of three children, lives separately from her husband. He supports his family by running a flower shop. Sapna was at her flower shop around 12 noon on Tuesday.

The accused wanted to marry the woman

Then Narendra reached there and started talking about marrying Sapna. Sapna said I can’t marry you. This angered Narendra. In a fit of rage, he attacked Sapna with a petrol-filled balloon and set her on fire. The reason behind this incident was that Narendra wanted to marry Sapna, but Sapna refused. In anger, Narendra took this fatal step. As petrol also fell on Narendra, he was also severely burnt.

A complaint was lodged with the police, but no action was taken

After the incident, both were admitted to the hospital in a critical condition, where as their condition worsened, both were admitted to a private hospital. Sapna’s family is saddened by this incident. He has accused the police of not taking any action despite complaining several times earlier. This negligence led to this horrific incident. If the police had acted on time, such an incident would not have happened today.

ASP informed about the incident

This incident is a lesson not only for the families but for the entire society that how bitterness and rift in relationships can give rise to such violent incidents. Such incidents can be prevented only by timely action of the police and vigilance of the society. In the whole matter, Additional SP Suryakant Sharma says that based on the complaint of the victim, a case has been registered against the accused lover. As soon as Narendra’s condition improves, he will be arrested.
