Security forces have intensified their campaign against terrorism in Kashmir’s Doda. For the last four days, troops have been conducting operations in Doda to curb terrorism. Early this morning, soldiers surrounded the terrorists in the dense forests of Kastigarh in Doda. According to reports, two jawans have been injured in a heavy encounter between terrorists and security forces in Kastigarh. Jammu Kashmir Police and Army are conducting a search operation in the entire area.
Two soldiers injured
Two soldiers were injured in an encounter with militants in the jungle village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district early on Thursday, officials said. Officials said the encounter took place around 2 am in Jaddan Bata village of Kastigarh area. In fact, the militants opened fire on a temporary security camp set up by the security forces. After which a heavy clash took place between the terrorists and the security forces and retaliatory attacks were carried out by both sides.
Security forces retaliated and the exchange of fire between the two sides continued for over an hour, the official said. Officials said two jawans sustained minor injuries in the firing by the militants. So far 4 people have been arrested in this operation against the network of (Overground Workers OGWs).
Continuous operation is going on in Doda
There have been continuous attacks in Doda district since June 12. Six security personnel were injured in a terrorist attack at Chattergala Pass, followed by gunfire in Gandoh the next day in which a policeman was injured.
Three militants were killed in a day-long operation in Gandoh area of the district on June 26, while another encounter took place in Gadhi saffron forest on July 9. Around a dozen militants have been killed in six districts of Jammu province since the beginning of this year.
