Jharkhand: ATS Raids At 16 Places Including Ranchi, 8 Suspects Including One Terrorist Arrested


Major action of Jharkhand ATS. (symbolic)

Jharkhand ATS, STF and Delhi Police jointly conducted a major operation based on inputs received from central agencies regarding Al-Qaeda Indian Subcontinent (Terrorist Activity) module. Raids were conducted at 16 places in Jharkhand capital Ranchi, Lohardaga, Hazaribagh. One terrorist has been detained along with eight suspects.

Let us tell you that in the raid, the ATS team has arrested a terrorist from Lohsinghna Chowk under Lohsinghna Police Station. After his arrest, he was produced in the Hazaribagh ACJM Court under tight security. After this the ATS team took him with them to Ranchi. From where he was taken to Delhi.

The arrested terrorist is said to be an active member of Al Qaeda in the Indian subcontinent. His name is Faizan Ahmed (45) son of Abdul Rashid. According to the information, Faizan runs a wholesale business in Hazaribagh. He was working for a terrorist organization hiding his identity. The ATS team also recovered two laptops, a book, mobile phone and some electronic gadgets.

According to information received so far, suspected terrorist Faizan’s parents live in Mandai and he himself used to live in Lohsinghana. He was in touch with Dr Istiaq Ahmed from Ranchi. Ishtiaq came to Hazaribagh and met him. Meanwhile, both had dinner in a hotel in Hazaribagh. Let us tell you that Dr. Ishtiaq has already been arrested.

Informing about the ATS raid, Jharkhand Police IG Operations Amol Venukant Homkar said that raids have been conducted at 16 places in the state. The raid was conducted jointly by Jharkhand ATS, STF and Delhi Police. Eight suspects have been detained in the raid. Meanwhile, illegal weapons, suspicious documents, laptops, mobiles and digital equipment have been recovered. These recovered items are currently being verified.
