J&K Elections: Congress Releases Fourth List Of Candidates, Approves 5 Names

The Congress party has announced its fourth list for the assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The party has announced the names of five people in its fourth list, who will contest the election against the opposition party. The party has announced the names of candidates for Baramulla, Bandipora, Suchetgarh, Akhnoor and Chamb seats.

Who was given the ticket?

  1. The party has nominated Mir Iqbal from Baramulla.
  2. Bandipora to Nizamuddin Bhat
  3. Suchetgarh to Bhushan Dogra
  4. Akhnoor to Ashok Bhagat
  5. Tara Chand was given a ticket by Chhamb

We are contesting elections in NC-Congress alliance

Congress has fielded 39 candidates so far. Congress and NC are in alliance, due to which NC got 51 seats while Congress got 32 seats as per seat sharing deal. However, some seats will see friendly competition between the two.

Khadge announced the election manifesto

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge was seen on the same stage as NC president Farooq Abdullah at an election rally held in Anantnag on September 11. Meanwhile, the Congress president while releasing the election manifesto promised the public that if his party wins, women will be given interest-free loans of Rs 3000 per month and self-help groups will be given loans of up to Rs 5 lakh. Along with this, it was also announced to give 11 kg of grain to every family in a month.

The result will come on October 8

Elections are being held in Jammu and Kashmir after 10 years, earlier in 2014 elections were held in the valley. In which PDP and BJP alliance won. Voting will be held in three phases in the union territory. The first phase of voting will be held on September 18, the second phase on September 25 and the third and final phase on October 1. The election results will be announced on October 8.
