JSSC-CGL Exam: Jharkhand Government’s Strange Decision Against Paper Leak, Internet Shutdown For Two Days From Today


This decision has been taken to avoid alleged paper leaks in competitive exams.

Hemant Soren Government of Jharkhand has taken a big decision regarding Common Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination (CGL) of Jharkhand State Staff Selection Commission (JSSC). Due to this examination, internet will be shut across the state today and tomorrow (September 21-22). The order said that the internet service will be closed from 8 am to 1:30 pm during the examination on both the days.

In fact, the Jharkhand government has issued an order even before the JSSC-CGL exam. It has been said that internet service will be disrupted in 24 districts of Jharkhand on 21st and 22nd September from 8 am to 1.30 pm.

This time, the Jharkhand government has decided to ban internet in 24 districts of the state during the exam period to deal with cases like alleged paper leaks in competitive exams. Mobile internet service will be shut down around 5.30 hrs on both the days.

Let us inform you that Jharkhand General Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination 2023 (JSSC -CGL) is being conducted by Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission today and on September 22 in 24 districts of the state. For this, 823 examination centers have been set up in the state. More than 6 lakh 40 thousand candidates are expected to appear in this exam.

An order issued by the Department of Home Affairs and Disaster Management, Government of Jharkhand said that in order to conduct the examination in a free and transparent manner, the state government has decided to conduct the JSSC CGL examination during this period. That is, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 AM it has been decided to shut down the internet service till 30 PM. So that the right candidates can be selected and the alleged gangs of cheating during the examination can be overcome.

The order also states that social elements can be used to cheat through social media sites like Facebook, WhatsApp, X, Telegram and mobile applications like YouTube. All these things work through internet or WiFi, so the government has issued an order to disrupt the internet service during the exam period.

The letter issued by Jharkhand Home Department Principal Secretary Vandana Dadel also clarified that in case of violation of the order, penal action will be taken under various sections of Indian Penal Code and Indian Telegraph Act.

Let us tell you that JSSC CGL exam was canceled in the month of January this year due to paper leak. Due to which the state government had to face a huge crisis. This time, to prevent paper leakage in JSSC CGL exam, the state government has decided to shut down the internet during the exam period.
