The body of a second year post graduation medical student was found at RG Kar Hospital in West Bengal’s capital Kolkata at 11.30 am on Friday. According to the information, the body of the second year medical student was found in the seminar hall on the third floor of the emergency building of RG Kar Hospital. After the body of the student was found, it was initially said to be a case of suicide, but later the investigation shifted to rape and murder. A PGT lady doctor was on duty at the hospital in the chest medicine department. Now questions are being raised on his death.
It will be revealed after the post mortem
After the agitation by the students, Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal reached the spot and assured the students of appropriate action. Post mortem videography can also be done. The cause of death will be known after the postmortem report. The hospital management has kept silent on the whole issue. In the case of the student’s death, the police said that injury marks were found on the nose, throat and lips of the medical student.
There were no clothes in the lower part
The post mortem team has also confirmed this. Also, the police say that this could be the work of their people as the place where the body of the medical student was found is far away from the general ward and there is no access for general public. According to the sources, when the body of the student was found, it was covered and when seen, the student was wearing clothes on the upper part but not on the lower part. Forensic head SK Saha also confirmed the injury marks on the face.

After the uproar of the students, politics has also heated up in this whole matter. After the news of the student’s death, TMC MLA Nirmal Ghosh reached the hospital to see her. He raised the issue of strict investigation alleging that the student was killed. Along with this, BJP leader Amit Malviya has surrounded the Mamata government of the state and said that if women doctors are not safe in famous hospitals like RG Kal, what about places like Sandesh Khali?
