Kolkata Rape Case: CISF To Handle Security Of RG Car From Tomorrow, Know How Many Troops Will Be Deployed

Central forces may be deployed at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital from Thursday. Senior CISF officers including ADG Kundan Krishnan held a meeting with Health Secretary NS Nigam, Government of West Bengal, Principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital and Kolkata Police officials on deployment of CISF personnel, security measures and other aspects.

CISF officials visited the hospital again on Wednesday night. He discussed with the hospital officials. Where, how and how many companies of troops will be deployed. The RG Medical College case was heard in the Supreme Court on Thursday and Tuesday. The Supreme Court ordered central security in the hospital. DIG Pratap Singh visited the hospital on Wednesday. After this he also went to Lalbazar police headquarters in RG car. He came back to the hospital at night.

A company force usually consists of 80 to 120 central soldiers. 70 of them are active. The rest are engaged in other activities. In such a situation, commanders considered two company forces sufficient to protect the hospital. Around 151 soldiers, including the superintendent, will guard the RG car.

After the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College on August 9, there has been an uproar. Following this, orders were given to deploy central forces at the hospital. Central forces will now be deployed at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital following the Supreme Court order.
